Unknown Norfolk is dedicated to sketches of East Anglia - particularly Norfolk.

Using, mainly Pen & Ink (mostly preffering Dip Pens) & watercolour, Jamie Cooper finds interesting subjects to present and sell.

Collectables, curios, other artwork and especially books about the area, are also available to purchase.

As well as fine artwork, the gallery also sells antiquarian pieces and collectables such as painting equipment such as old Pochade boxes and easels. Some artists love the patina and history associated with these items. As well as collecting them in their own rights, some artists even find it more comfortable to be inspired to do great work using them.

Jamie Cooper's work includes life drawings and portraits as well a range of pen & ink, plus watercolour landscapes.

“I particularly enjoy becoming absorbed in pen work to produce tonal work with impact. This is a particular niche which I am exploring and constantly experimenting with and pushing further. A lot of my artistic heroes are past pen and ink practitioners such as illustrator and writer, Donald Maxwell (1877 – 1936).

The shopping experience at Unknown Norfolk can also make an unusual and exciting gift for someone.

Unknown Norfolk is a relatively small gallery which tends to punch above it's weight. It has three distinct areas, the first gallery usually shows recent paintings by local artists (change on average every six weeks). Contemporary work is also exhibited in the other section. A back – partitioned - gallery shows work by past and more traditional artists such as Jack Cox and Jason Partner and collectable/antiquarian works.
